About Vanessa Layne, M.Ed., LMHC

After a decade working in IT and as a programmer, Vanessa decided to upgrade to the most powerful processor available, and the most challenging to debug: the human mind. She returned to school and earned a Masters of Education in Mental Health Counseling from Cambridge College in 2009.

Subsequently, Vanessa practiced at an outpatient community clinic, providing psychotherapy to adults for mental illness, substance abuse, trauma, and problems of living. In addition to serving the general population of the community at large, through a government contract Vanessa provided rehabilitative clinical treatment to prison inmates with substance dependence, major mental illnesses, and personality disorders.

Upon being licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for independent practice, Vanessa established Meshwell Psychotherapy to bring together her dual expertise in mental health and technical culture.
